First let me say thank goodness my football depression is over! I am so excited the season has started and my weekends are full of football.
Now let’s recap the game.
The Panthers surpassed the Chargers in the last minute of the game to win their opener 26-24. The Panthers offense started very slow. There were so many missed opportunities in the red zone. The Panthers just simply could not convert. Why can’t these guys score touchdowns?
Thank goodness we have the most reliable kicker in the league, John Kasay. I shiver to think what we would do without him. Kasay had a total four field goals in the game. Despite P. Rivers, who I wished had been sacked a few more times, fourth quarter comeback attempt, the Panthers didn’t give up. They finally converted on an offensive touchdown to win their season opener. The improvement in the Panthers team from last year was very noticeable (thank you Jesus!) and I would have said this even if they had fallen short against the Chargers. OBTW, to Jake D. sorry for all that junk I talked about you ‘til about 20 seconds to go in the game, maybe you are the right QB for the Panthers after all
I am digging the results of your elbow reconstructive surgery. Well John Fox enjoy your week off the hot seat. I am sure it will be a relief. Good luck against the Bears next week!
